Sulfate of Potash (SOP) is a premium, high-analysis fertilizer (0-0-50+18s) primarily known for being chloride-free and supplying both potassium and sulfur, making it ideal for chloride-sensitive, high-value crops. It has a very low salt index compared to Muriate of Potash (MOP), reducing the risk of root burn and soil salinity. It strengthens cell walls, increasing plant resistance to diseases, pests, and environmental stressors like drought.
Mechanism of Action:
It boosts plant growth, improves fruit size, color, taste, and improves shelf life by reducing post-harvest bruising. Frequently used in tobacco, tea, nuts, and greenhouse cultivation due to its ability to enhance marketability and quality. It provides a high concentration of Potassium (approx. 50-52%) and crucial Sulfur (approx. 17-18% S), promoting better protein synthesis and nutrient uptake.
