Forum is primarily used to control monocotyledonous weeds in corn and other cereal crops, including wild oats, foxtail grass and volunteer cereals. Since it is a selective herbicide, it does not harm the crop itself and has little effect on broad-leaved weeds.
Forum controls annual grass weeds, broad leaved weeds, and perennial weeds such as Sorghum halepense and Elymus repens.

Mode of Action:

As a selective systemic herbicide involves the inhibition of acetolactate synthase (ALS), also known as acetohydroxyacid synthase (AHAS), a crucial enzyme in the biosynthesis of branched-chain amino acids (isoleucine, leucine, and valine). This inhibition leads to a cessation of cell division and plant growth, ultimately resulting in the death of susceptible weeds

Application Guidelines:

Forum is primarily applied as a post-emergence foliar spray for weed control in corn, typically using specialized equipment like boom sprayers or aerial applicators, ensuring even coverage of the target weeds. Apply when weeds are actively growing and within their recommended growth stage (e.g., 1-8 leaf stage for corn). Early morning or evening applications are preferred to avoid high noon temperatures that can reduce efficacy.
