Metribuzin is a selective, systemic and contact herbicide which works for the control of weeds in sugarcane, potato, tomato, soybean and wheat. It acts through the roots and leaves and therefore, can be used for both pre and post emergence applications. It controls both narrow and broad leaf weeds.
Mode of Action:
Metribuzin is a photosynthesis inhibitor, meaning it disrupts the process of photosynthesis in weeds, preventing them from producing energy and ultimately leading to their death. It is absorbed by both the roots and leaves of weeds, allowing for effective control regardless of where the herbicide contacts the plant.
Application Guidelines:
Metribuzin can be applied pre-emergence (before weeds sprout) or post-emergence (after weeds sprout), depending on the crop and weed pressure. It can be applied via aerial, chemigation, or ground application methods.
