Chlorantraniliprole and clothianidin are both insecticides used in agriculture to control various pests. Chlorantraniliprole is a newer insecticide from the anthranilic diamide class, effective against Lepidopteran, Coleopteran, and some Dipteran pests.  It is also used to control pests like moths, beetles, caterpillars, corn borers, Colorado potato beetles, and more.  Clothianidin is a neonicotinoid insecticide. They are often used in combination to control a broader range of pests, especially borers in crops like maize, rice, and sugarcane.

Mechanism of Action:

Chlorantraniliprole insecticide targets insect muscles by disrupting calcium ion regulation, leading to paralysis and death. This neonicotinoid insecticide works by blocking insect nervous system transmission, ultimately leading to death.

Application:

Chlorantraniliprole and clothianidin can be applied as both foliar sprays and soil applications. Chlorantraniliprole can be applied through transplant water, tray soak, or tray drench methods. It can also be applied as a soil injection or drench, with systemic activity lasting up to nine weeks. Clothianidin can be applied to plant leaves, soil, or seeds. Clothianidin application methods includes

• Foliar Sprays:Apply directly to plant leaves.

• Soil Applications:Apply to the soil, allowing it to be absorbed by the plant roots.

• Seed Treatment:Apply clothianidin as a seed treatment.
